How do I upload images to the HCA Gallery?

Please follow the directions for the new gallery. Familiarize yourself with the different albums and what belongs in them. Repeated misuse of the gallery by placing images in the wrong place, placing non crab related images, placing inappropriate images, or hotlinking from our images will result in a ban from the gallery. There may be consequences on the forum as well depending on the issue. The Species ID Gallery is not open for uploading by members. Admin will upload images to this gallery.

Use your own personal images ONLY.

To use the new photo gallery:

You must register seperately at the gallery to use it. You may use the same name and login details that you use at HCA if you want, but you must create a new account.

Max image size is 800X800 and 150kb (larger images should be cropped and resized to upload).

To upload your photo:

Find the proper album for your picture. Read the notes on the Categories and Albums for guidance.
In the upper left corner of the page click on Upload File

If you are uploading from your computer, browse to the file location and click on continue, you can upload as many as 10 images at once. If you are uploading from a URL, enter the URL and click continue.

You will then get a 'upload sucessful' message.

Next you will have a screen to select the album to insert your photo(s) in and add some details about the image. Fill in the fields and then click continue. If you uploaded more than one photo, it will bring them up one by one for you to add your information.

You will get another 'successful' message. Click continue and you are all finished.

Creating your own album:

Members will be allowed to create their own personal album if they wish. The images should be hermit crab related only. NO HOTLINKING!!!! If you don't know what hotlinking is, ask someone. Any misuse or abuse of this option and it will be removed for everyone.

Click My Gallery
Click Create Order My Albums
Click New
Highlight the words New Album and type the desired album name
Click Apply Modifications
Click OK
Click Continue
Click Upload File
Click Browse and locate the file that you want to upload, select the file and click Open. Repeat this process for each file you want to upload.
Click Continue
Click Continue again
Complete the image details for each file that you have uploaded.
