HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Has anyone tried carnivorous plants to combat pests? I’ve been thinking about getting a butterwort and placing it somewhere the crabs can’t reach it, but where the gnats will. Thoughts?

The issue I have had is that the humidity levels are too high for most succulents. Have you considered air plants?

Hey(: I recently bought two purple pinchers that appear to be Jumbo sized crabs (I have not measured them yet because I wanted to give them time to settle in before messing with them). Someone on instagram told me that Jumbos need at least a 50 gallon tank, is this true?

Thats a great question! I would guess if the tank conditions are staying the same year round that they would eat the same year round, but I'm really not sure!
