HCA: Hermit Crab Association

so my husband came to me yesterday and asked me if lizards and crabs get along and if they can be in the same tank...i told him i didnt think so but would ask what do yall think??

i have to have a step ladder to get into my tank (67g) im just to short lol

the crabs will eat the plant and they normally dont live long in the tank due to the salt water that would be use in the sub, as for soil from the garden i would not not use it as there may be chemicals in it that would not be good for the crabs, i have been using play sand and it works grate!!!

np im here to help, i have a med E and she turns into a bully offten si i have to put a shrimp in there evry other day or so, till i can get her a friend..as the other crabs are PP.

so ill sart off saying you set up sounds pretty good!!!with that said i would not handle them any more for about a month or so, just to give them time to destress, the more you handle a new crab the more stressed he will get. do you have an ISO tank??if not thats ok, what you should do is get a big ...

i would suggest to get a 20g tall only cuz you have a large and your sub. needs to be at least 3x a deep as your largest crab so that have room to dig and will be able to go deep enought during a molt to not be messed with and you would be able to have them all together in one tank, i have a 67g tan...

Never dig up a crab, now with that said i would give him about 1-2 months, as he could be molting nothing to worry about

4 small or 3 med, i would get a bigger tank if ur not to sure what size crabs you have

yes and i smooth out the top so i can tell and shes not coming up.

i got a new crab at the start of the year put her in iso and she went down a few days later, she was down just under a month came up at and drunk alot of water then went back down (i didnt see her during that time) she has been down for another month...should i start to worry...shes not that big...m...

ok ill start off by saying thank you for doing your homework befor you buy a hermit crab!!!no as far as the tank goes you will want to start off with a 10g as the smallest, as hermit crabs are best when bought in pairs to start they live in large groups in the wild, and haveing just one crab can sho...
