Re: Humidity Problems

When I spray the tank, it will stay at 70 for a few minutes, than goes back down to the 60's. It used to never do this. It used to be a constant 90. My heat also used to be a steady 80 - 84, and now when I wake up the temperature has a low of 75. FWIW and not to jinx myself, my 29 gallon has been s...

Re: Telling Individuals Apart

I can't tell them apart and don't try, I don't even try to name them. If they hold onto a certain shell for awhile that helps but as long as they are healthy that's all I need to know.

One year anniversary

Image
Happy to celebrate, with the help of this forum, my crabs seem to be thriving. This guy, just up from a molt, is a deep mahogany brown with very hairy legs.

Re: Protein Sources & Food Salt Questions

And like kids I would keep offering stuff they didn't like previously. My guys wouldn't eat mangoes for awhile then all of a sudden one of them started chowing down on it. Now it seems quite popular.

Re: Shells Your Equadorians Like the Best?

They are supposed to prefer the d shape opening so I was surprised he picked a turbo. I would just try to offer a variety in different sizes so they choose the best fit. I had turbos in the tank for the purple pinchers. I got a bunch of Babylonia shells at Hobby Lobby. Joanne's has had some nice tur...

Shells Your Equadorians Like the Best?

Each of my three e's changed into a different type. One freshly molted is in a turbo, one changed to a Babylonia and one into a whale eye.

Re: Isopods still alive

The Isopods do a great job of hiding. When I lift the food bowl, there may be just a few to many under it, but they disappear in seconds. Before I can even put a fresh dish of food in.

For protein sources, my guys' favorites are frozen shrimp, frozen clams, eggs, chicken, beef, dried anchovies, and sardines.

Odd behavior

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before: one of my E's is not eating the scrambled eggs, at first I thought he was going to run off with a piece. But it looks like he is kneading it like bread. Or fluffing it up. He did this for ten minutes, taking pieces of the cooked egg. Fluffing it and scat...
