I used salt water as suggested here and have had successful molts, so I don't feel the need to change anything. from what I've gathered, its best to offer the colored 'hermit crab' sands in small portions (a dish for them to crawl through and explore a new texture, or a mini beach dug shallowly into the playsand/cocofiber mixture). . it has less to do with whether or not hermies will molt in it all, but more ...

I thought about what i'd be doing from what you described, and it would be the same- offering fresh sources of anything they might wanna munch on to feel better, making sure they're not too...
