Re: Puzzle cube

Triangles would be great Rosie!! I would also suggest making larger ones. I have a couple of jumbos, and they pinched one of my cubes open trying to get the popcorn. They are like that though! They've also pinched the mesh on my wheels too! That is so cute! Crabs gotta pinch I guess! Sent from my S...

Re: Puzzle cube

I'm glad your crabs like the cube. Our newest revision we started to make them with three holes rather than six. I was thinking about cutting one or maybe two holes. It's easy enough to add more. I'm just worried about someone cutting themselves adding a holes then trying to blame us. We are reopen...

What is that??!!

Ok so I was checking out my crabitat when I saw something which really disturbed me. It looks like a huge worm living in my crabs shell with him, coming out and wriggling around and then sucking back in. OMG I am so freaked I literally feel nauseous. I took a vid but I'm having a hard time getting i...

Re: Spider Crab!

Yeah it's so shocking when you find out what good climbers they are. It's funny though because if you think about it at all it makes perfect sense that they're excellent climbers. Hermit crabs are basically just movable grappling hooks.

Re: Who Doesn't Like Baby Pictures?

Welcome to the HCA! Crab Con is the world's only international hermit crab convention. There are presentations from speakers around the world covering all areas pertaining to hermit crabs. There are also several shops offering all things hermit crabs, shells, foods, and decor items. Last year all s...

Re: Who Doesn't Like Baby Pictures?

Crabs are pretty crazy how they pick up stuff. Xeno caught a baby in the wheel the other night! He struggled to finally get into the wheel. Then he was too little to make it go. They really seem to learn by watching others. Like putting nooch and hot sauce on popcorn! That may be my new favorite wa...

Re: Finished Crabitat

Thanks! It's all made out of egg crate wrapped with burlap. Egg crate is a material used in overhead lighting, like in offices. I had to check quite a few hardware stores before I found it. Lots of crabbers on this forum use it to build their tats but I've never seen anyone else cover it in burlap. ...

Re: Finished Crabitat

Haha CAN I?? Try to stop me ;) I constructed it out of egg crate which I wrapped in burlap to give it a more natural look then I ziptied everything together. If you look at the threads I started I did a build diary which documented all the steps. Hopefully you can get an idea of how the upper level ...

Re: Finished Crabitat

Nice! My crabs are current in a custom 65 gallon. The funny thing is I got this tank off of craigslist from a guy who, as it turns out, had it custom made for hermit crabs. I guess it makes sense because the dimensions really are perfect. What are the dimensions on ur new tat gonna be like? Sent fro...

Re: Finished Crabitat

Wow, looks great! It looks to me like the plexi is lifting in one corner of the tank and I might be a little concerned if there was a gap when it is weighted. I love that you made a substantial second level, I have an extensive second level as well and my hermit crabs use it ALL THE TIME. I feel lik...
