Re: Should I get crabs?

I have had my 3 crabs for almost 3 years in various tanks, from a 5 gallon (I know now it was too small) to a 29 gallon. I had an Ecuadorian but he passed while molting and I was very devastated.

Re: Molting E in Bacterial Bloom & Lost Limbs

Sorry, I don’t get it. Crabs (obviously) don’t go out of their way to tell their owners that they will molt.

sometimes they crawl out of their shell to bathe. mine have never done that, though.
I agree with JoeHermits, crabs do not go out of their shells to bathe

This should definitely be in the Injured Crab sticky. I also believe he will pull through, he seems to have a lot of will!

Is This Ok?

Due to the lack of Quikrete play sand, I had no choice but to get Sakrete play sand. It says that it is 100% natural and is pre washed and screened. Can I use it?

Re: Rinsing Dishes and Crab Poop/Color

For the first two questions, they are normal. The color of their poop sometimes depends on the color of the food they eat. I never noticed it myself, but some crabbers reported that their crabs’ exoskeletons may become ashier right before they

Re: It’s not the same

I am in the same shoes, except for rehoming my crabs. Ever since I confirmed my E died, I have not been on HCA as much, and it seems like my crabs have noticed, lol. I wait an extra day to change food and water and my crabs are moving less, but they are still relatively active. He didn’t even last a...

Adding Isopods to Main Tank

I am planning to add isopods to my tank after my next deep clean. Question is, is it required to change substrate every now and then? Another question, how much substrate would I need to add to the tank at first to make it settle down to about 8 inches?
