Mine could care less about anything. They hate people, they hate isopods, they hate everything. [emoji23]

It's the hardest part of having hermit crabs for me!!! When they're all down, I'm constantly checking the tank waiting for them to come up. Lol.

Re: Why have a UVB light if hermit crabs hide all day?

I've seen people say they're crabs are more active with the light. What are your heat and humidity levels? Are they new crabs? If so, they're probably adjusting. Also, purple Pinchers are less active than ecuadorian crabs. Mine come out, but not like my E. He's all over the place lol Sent from my SA...

Re: should I buy my 7yo a hermit crab?

Yes, set up is expensive sometimes but it's just once! After that you just need food and shells [emoji4]
Check Etsy, @TheHealthyHermit for food. It's so cheap and my crabs love it!
You can also find shells on Etsy!

Re: should I buy my 7yo a hermit crab?

The care guides here are great! They explain everything you need to know about hermit crabs and how to properly care for them. There's also lots of threads about DIY ways to set up a crabitat, crabbing can be expensive if you really get into it so we like to save money where we can. [emoji6] I'll sa...

I'd email the company and ask what they sent you. The might have gotten orders mixed up or labeled wrong.

Re: Possible upgrade, and final!

She's in the garage, waiting to be cleaned! I'll probably not set this up for a month or so, I've got molters down and one in ISO so I've got time. She's basically the same size as the 55 length and height, just with a curved front. She's beautiful though!!! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190207...

Re: Second level help!!

I've seen the turtle log docks that attach to the side with magnets, those look cool!! Or you can hang a net, I've got a crochet net I hung for their shell shop. I've even seen folks use a basket turned upside down!

Possible upgrade, and final!

Hey y'all!! I might have my hands on a BOW FRONT TANK! [emoji7][emoji7] I seriously have dreamed of one for years, especially since I've gotten the hermies. It's supposed to be like 80 gallons. It comes with a short stand (homemade) all for $100. Here's the pics that were posted on letgo: https://up...
