I have had this one crab for about a month and she is still very skittish every time I walk past. She goes into her shell and takes a while to come out. What can I do to get her more used to me and less timid?
Thanks!

Re: How long will my hermit crab molt for??
Your answer to question 15....do you mean that you dig them up every week, if they have buried themselves? Yes Digging up buried crabs is dangerous. They bury anywhere from a few weeks to several months to destress and molt. The only time they should ever be dug for is if you have a flooded tank, a...

If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Yes, located in the back middle. 75°f temperature and 80%...

Re: What’s the best way to introduce new crabs?
Glad to be a help!! And to answer your question, Yes you should. It is always a good idea to change the substrate once and a while. But you should keep with the mix of coconut fiber and play sand. Which is the most like their natural substrate.

Re: What’s the best way to introduce new crabs?
Hey! I am new to the website but I may know some things that may help you. 1. Her crabs would only make your crabs sick if her crabs are sick. It would be a good idea to put them in iso for a little bit or bathe them to make sure any mites are gone. But most likely if your friend had the crabs for a...

Hey! My hermit crab Tickles just started molting yesterday and today she shed her exo. She has eaten half of her exo at this point. Although she is molting above the ground. Re: What to do if I disturbed a top molter?!?!?
Hermiesguardian,
Thanks so much!!
I would send a picture of where she is right now but I don’t know how. She is under a piece of wood propped up by a pot. She is on top of moss with a bowl of fresh water. I’ll put in some salt and some food.
Thanks so much guys!!
