The gnat trap that always works best for me is: Get a jar or a long cup and fill 1/3 of it with bread and vinegar. Then make a funnel out of paper big enough for the gnats to go into but small enough that they can't ecsape. It works like a charm for me and it always catches TONS of gnats and flies!...

I’ve had my hermits for about 2 months now and I love them, I do not know what species they are tho and I am looking to buy new shells for them I don’t know which opening they prefer. I bought them in a Florida gift shop (I didn’t know about the industry until after) can somebody help?

Re: Gnat infestation

Mold won’t harm the hermit crabs, but it will grow more as the humidity rises. Has your hygrometer been calibrated? There’s no food buried somewhere, is there? I’ve heard of people dealing with small flying insects with vinegar traps. Create a 50/50 solution of apple cider vinegar and water. Then a...

Re: Gnat infestation

For a quick boost, you could wrap seran wrap around the lid if it’s a screen cover. If it’s glass or plexiglass you could wrap around the entire top of the tank if it’s not air tight. Moss is also an excellent humidity booster. Place it in a container so the substrate doesn’t sap it dry. If you wan...
