... Did I just see a ghost?!!??

So this big guy (stupid painted koala shell) went down nearly 1 1/2 months ago (October 25th) and I haven't heard ANYTHING from him since about 3 days after he sent down. I've been going around telling people I own 3 crabs because I was 99% certain he'd passed! I did hold out that 1% smidgen of hope...

Re: toys

I hope I am asking this in the right area. I've seen in other posts on other sites that a hamster wheel is a good toy for crabs. Is this true or to be avoided? Dande Actually I've heard they enjoy it a fair bit. A bunch of people on this forum have one, anyone have suggestions for brands? Sent from...

Re: Too bright..?

Is complete darkness okay? I usually cover my tank with a sheet at night because we are getting ready for work, but once we leave all the lights are off and the sheet stays... Should I leave a hall light on or something to have even a LITTLE light? Or is completely black dark okay? Sent from my SAM...

Re: Too bright..?

Darkness at night is better for the crabs, unless you have to have a light for heat. (And even then there are lightless options.) A light at night is only for our benefit to watch them. Ah that makes sense, I'll make sure to turn it off then :) thanks as always wodesorel! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL us...

Too bright..?

Hey all, So a few days ago I was fiddling with the timer on my light bar and screwed it up so now the night light turns off before the daylight comes on. That's not the important part. I noticed that my crabs have been further from their den in the mornings and even when I stay up really late (1-2 i...

Re: is there any brand of play sand i should avoid?

I get my play sand from home depot for 2.80 and Lowes, it's just called play sand and is very common. Only had difficulty finding it at one home depot because apparently someone was building a sandbox and bought it all out lol [emoji14]

Re: Hello, I'm New Here

No, I wasn't. I've written some posts in the past, but not very many. I am still figuring out how this website works- I may need a little help here and there. Is there a sheet I can find here that helps new people learn how to learn about using this website? Honestly the easiest way to use it would...

Re: So, this isn't optimal.

Ok FINALLY got around to fixing the tubs. Turned out to be a super busy weekend so I didn't have a chance to get these set up before the last minute. Crabs should be waking up soon and hopefully this is up to their standards. Thoughts? Also, left a reward in the moss pit if anyone is brave enough to...

Re: So, this isn't optimal.

I'm probably going to use it as a ramp, my little guy is pretty mini and I want him to have the best chance to get in and out, decided to take the water level to about half his shell size for tonight so they can still drink but I'll get the stuff tomorrow https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181118/d6...

Re: So, this isn't optimal.

Quick follow up question, I notice the little guys have dirtied up the other shells in there. Should I clean them up when I notice them get dirty or just leave that to the crabs?

So, this isn't optimal.

Decided to improve the water setup today, but I have no clue what to use as ramps lol. Or, for that matter, if I did it right [emoji2369] I've got all day but I'd rather not keep all 3 of my crabs (that aren't currently buried) in a crappy KK with some spare plexi glass over it for longer than neces...

Re: My first moss pit :)

Nice! Why are you changing the substrate? Well a few people in my other posts were saying it looked dry and I noticed one of my crabs came up super dirty after a day dug down. The substrate has only been in there for about 3 1/2 weeks but the lid I had on there previously was subpar so I guess that...
