Yep, egg crate or light diffusers is what it's called.

We cut it so it goes to the bottom of the substrate. We also use Flukers tension rods to support the top so crabs can't pull it away at the top.
Very cool! Thank you!!!

Thank you so much!!
Oh I get it, it goes all the way down to the bottom of the tank. Good thing I asked before I put in my substrate!

What is that white climbing grid called?

Hi,
I’m beginning a tank upgrade. I love that whit e plastic grid I see in the background of so many tanks. What is that stuff called? I have “crafting mesh” but that’s not as sturdy.
Also, how do you attach the sturdy white grid to the tank?

Thanks for the input!

Reuse decor from hamster cage?

Hi,
I’m upgrading my tank and bought a used tank. The guy I purchased it from included a bunch of decor items from their hamster. I’ve got porcelain hides, plastic hides, wood bridges with and without metal. Which of these items can I use and how should I clean them?
Thanks so much!

Re: Rehoming because of ant infestation?

Hi All, Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it! I sent along your suggestions about digging up the crabs and cleaning out the tank, so she can keep her crabs. I also offered to take that on for her if it was too much to deal with. I haven’t heard back from her, so I don’t know what...

Re: Rehoming because of ant infestation?

Ok, thanks for the input. I’m going to suggest to the owner that she clean the tank accordingly so she can keep her crabs. But if it’s too much for her to deal with I can take the crabs. I have a 10 gallon tank I could use, or I’ll take hers if it’s larger. Thanks for the help. Any other ideas are w...

Rehoming because of ant infestation?

Hi, I’m considering adopting 3 ee’s (2 large and 1 medium) from someone who is worried about an ant infestation in her tank. Is it safe for me to take them? I’m worried about infecting my tank and also she mentioned two have dug done and I would hate for them to be dug up unnecessarily. Also, I sugg...

Hi,
I’m in Ventura and I can take your hermit crabs if they still need a home. I have a 30 gallon tank with 1 large and 2 medium crabs.
