Re: Moving UTH

Edit: Please ignore this. I see it was discussed in another one of your posts. Sorry! Also, substrate should be at least 6", or 3x the height of your biggest crabby. It allows for plenty of molting room. Substrate should be moistened to sand castle consistency using dechlor fresh or salt water. [emo...

Re: Moving UTH

Hi there! Do you have the uth stuck to the bottom (is there adhesive on it)? If so, you wouldn't be able to remove and restick it anyway. The little wires in the uth could break when removing it, which could be a fire hazard. In that case, I'd just leave it there unplugged, and get another uth asap....

Re: I'm a newbie here!

I have just joined because I have had Hermit Crabs since August and needed to find other people like me. Not like my husband who says "well, if they make you happy" but don't understand. I don't have a question right now but I do want to say I am super stoked that my Teeny who I got 2 months ago ju...

Re: ALL THREE CRABS NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR

Since it's been months, I think you can check on Squirt behind the rock and see if he's still there and alive. Just don't dig down if he's not visible. It sounds like you have movement, so at minimum, one crabby is up and moving. [emoji846] When I moved last year, I also had molters. So my Mom and I...

Re: messy messy crabs

Ours go crazy for hard boiled eggs! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk Mine do too! They like the yolks the best though. Whenever I go to Salad Works, I make sure to get the chopped hard-boiled eggs. Then I pick out all the yolks for the crabs and I eat the white parts lol. [emoji39] Sent from my ...

Re: messy messy crabs

I do the same as crabs_lex. I put an egg or two in a microwave safe croc/dish and heat it for 1-2 mins to make scrambled eggs. The other night I mixed in coconut flakes and amaranth seeds and they loved it. I think eggs is their favorite fresh food for sure. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapata...

Re: messy messy crabs

I use the lids that came with my tupperware containers as food trays lol. It was driving me crazy picking food off of the sand constantly. The lids really help contain the mess! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210114/a80fe71f2261d023089432660c6b347a.jpg Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

Re: Heat and humidity

I have two two hygrometer/ thermometers and another thermometer. I just did the switch and no not really as I am afraid of a bacterial bloom. But yes I just sprayed the tank down where I could as I have a hay woven climbable background and hammocks that cant get wet. I think the sub could be wetter...

Re: Heat and humidity

Ok, hi everyone I need some pointers after switching to 5:1 ratio of playsand to eco earth and a UTH instead of a heat lamp. I just switched over and my humidity has been lower than 75 percent and I am scared I have caused gill damage. Anyway my UTH is a 48 inch by 12 inch UTH and my tank is a 90 g...
