Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Well, @Vjsarlo I've thought about it all day, and I couldn't really think of anything that I wish I'd known before I started! Like yourself, I really researched and thought through all scenarios, and when something hasn't quite worked out, I always come up with a Plan B to fix or improve it. So far,...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Would you have any other advice for a project similar to this that you wish you knew/ did before you created yours? Also are you happy with the results and how it is holding up compared to a regular tank build? My idea is to take a bookshelf and combine it with a 46 gallon bow front tank so that th...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Oops, I was not clear. I meant do you, yourself, have an access door or something to reach in on the lower level? Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk Oh, haha! I see! Yes! So the door to access the entire crabinet is on the right. To keep the substrate in, I siliconed in a sheet of plexiglass in f...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Hey! First this looks amazing! What you did is inspiring! I am actually in the process of doing something similar to this and am in the planning phase. What did you do to seal the inside of the cabinet? Did you have to cover the wood with anything special and only seal the edges with epoxy? And als...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Yay! I've been waiting for this! Looks just as lovely as I imagined it would! Great job, wish I had your skills [emoji16] Sent from my cp3705AS using Tapatalk Thank you! It was less skill and more experimentation and resourcefulness, to be honest. But it came out great, so I'm very pleased! :} Sent...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
That is so cool! You put so much work into it. I definitely don't have that kind of patience! And yay for being from PA too Haha! [emoji2956] Sent from my SM-T387V using Tapatalk Thank you! It was a lot of work to get the cabinet painted and coated in epoxy, but then everything went really quick an...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Another cork level, this time with a tupperware of salt water. The reptivine attaches to the wall at the base of the next hole in the back right corner. A piece of cholla wood connects that level down to the moulting level. That's it! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200415/e0eaf9c5c82ef3653f058b5...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
My next level with modified exercise wheel! I cut out a section from the cork tile to hold a tupperware of fresh water. I costed the inside and edges of the tupperware with silicone and sand for grippiness. The front left corner has a hole cut out that the reptivine continues down through. https://...

We must have posted at the same time! The vine is a neat idea to connect the levels.[emoji4][emoji3] Sent from my SM-T387V using Tapatalk Thanks! Yeah, I don't know about others, but my crabs love climbing and spend all their time climbing into trouble. So I figured they'd see a vine as a fun chall...

Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Top net level and a cork level. This is the level where I have their food dish. There's one crabby hiding in the bamboo tube. Back right corner has a hole cut out and a reptivine to connect it to the next level. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200415/364f6270ea676aecf8d0f0e6b23e6459.jpg Sent from...
