Re: Is my crab dying? ):

Sometimes my crabs like to hang out of their shell and I notice it is because they seem to be cleaning themselves. As soon as they see another crab in sight, they zoom back in for defense. I've also seen a crab lunge at another that was half out of their shell cleaning. When she hangs out of her sh...

Is my crab dying? ):

Hello. Is your substrate mixed with dechlorinated marine saltwater or dechlorinated freshwater to make it sandcastle consistency? Your humidity going down into the 70s is too low. IMO it shouldn't ever dip below 80. Hermits need the humidity to breathe. You need to buy a dechlorinator. Use tap wate...

Re: Awwwww

Yes, but at the same time no. Remember, they are kinda at the bottom of the food chain in the wild, which means they are relatively easy picking. One way to helo reduce chance of being predated on is to stay in a large group (which they do) and hunt out areas to hide in where they are less likely t...

Re: Is my crab dying? ):

It sounds like you're doing everything right. I would cut out the ham and sausage. Sausage already has seasonings in it. And ham is very salty and may have preservatives. Do you give them calcium everyday? Give her some honey. That might boost her energy. Bee pollen. Okay thanks i wanted to try and...

Re: Awwwww

In the wild, they naturally hunt out small spaces and cram themselves into there, like clowns in a car. I got some pics of them, but lost them when my hard drive fried - and lost all the pics I tool of wild caught aussies. Its why I made my 3d background with a tunnel and cave, as they love to cram...

I was misting my crabitat before bed and my biggest crab Grapefruit likes to sit in this hanging coconut hut and so I was just looking at him and I saw another leg in there with him. I take a closer look and i’m amazed that my second biggest also was in this tiny little hut with Grapefruit. I’m like...

Re: Lots (I mean thousands) of tiny bugs!

Sorry I was stalking the emergency section threads and I am curious; how does a tank get bugs? I read it’s common but i’d love an sort of in depth explanation? && i’m not judging you or your tank at all by the way! Just curious like I said :-) if I could know what to look for/signs of these critters...

Is my crab dying? ):

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? EE 6inch (i plan on getting play sand to mix in and also add more ee because I bought way too much of the “blocks” a while ago) 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and ...
