10 gallon tank for two hermit crabs?
Well I switched my tanks really quickly. I first started off with a 10 gallon that lasted about 3 months and a 20 gallon that lasted another couple months then a 75 gallon I’m currently in right now that I have been using for about a year. They seemed happy in all of them it was me that wanted a big...

Sand Depth?
Your sub should be at least six inches or 3x as more then your biggest crab to be able to properly molt. Changing sub is not necessary unless there is a bacterial bloom or flood. You will only really need to spot clean food and poop Whenever you change food and water. Also it should be sand castle c...

Re: Which wheel?
Thanks Hermielover! If it is flexible, how to you attach it to the tank to use it to hold up something fairly heavy, like a hamster wheel? Sorry I was just recommending a cheap egg crate I just use siliconed hooks at the top of my tank to hold everything so I don’t know how to hang it otherwise. I ...

Re: Can I see your water pools?
Wow it’s so funny different crabs can prefer different pools more. Mine prefer the saltwater. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210206/b2dbb1b7b614df483dcd5cb265663dce.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210206/2108a00597faf930ac5015ed84d631a5.jpg (Water pools are dirty because they like to kick...

Re: Which wheel?
I use a gutter guard from Home Depot which is like 7 dollars for a very big roll. It is flexible and works really well in my opinion

Re: New egg crate tank ideas
I really love using micheals fake garlands. Another fun suggestion is using the egg crate as a bridge from one side to the other. I use hanging huts from pets mart that are supposed to be for birds and used popsicles sticks as a bridge instead but egg create would work to as long as it’s a bit flexi...

Re: Substrate that only covers part of the tank
Yes I agree with Casey it depends what size of tank and how many crabs. If you have a big tank and only a couple crabs I would say it’s ok but they do spend a lot of the time underground and up high so the more sub the better.

Re: 29gallon OK for temporary?
Yes I think so. They do grow quite fast when they molt but just for a little bit it’s ok. Just make sure you have lots of sub and shells

Awe glad to hear he has been doing well. Also all your biggest crabs are so cute compared to the tiniest crab. Can’t wait till my crabs get that big, did you buy them that big or have you had th for a while?[emoji3]

Cute crabbies hanging out
I it’s so cute the way these guys interact with each other and cuddle up in the same hut. Before I never thought that having a pet that’s not really hands-on could be so cute and fun but these hermit crabs are one of my favourite of my 10 animals. I love them so much and really enjoy keeping them so...

Re: Is this the end for my Stella?
Please do not touch her as much as possible when she is in this state I would just leave her be. The only way to tell if she is dead is if you smell a fishy smell she would have past but if nothing yet then she is still living
