First molt question :)

So just had my first molt ever( I think!) Robocop, the smallest, disappeared for almost 3 weeks and then one morning was back! I wrongly assumed that he would be bigger and need a different shell?! Is it normal that he would stay in the same shell after molting? It is a bit big for him, so maybe it’...

Re: Balance of humidity and temp problem

Mold won’t hurt the crabs but it can trigger human allergies. I’m allergic to mold so I try to minimize it when possible. As for lowering humidity, you could mist less or open up the lid more often. I have a hygrostat that lets me control humidity with greater precision. Thank you!! What brand/type...

Re: Balance of humidity and temp problem

Hi there! A climbing wall I’ve only had for two weeks is now covered in mold... should I remove it? I’m glad my humidity is high and the crabs are happy, but if I wanted to get the humidity down to between 70-80% how would I do it? Thank you!!

P.s. how do you post a picture?! Thank you!!

Balance of humidity and temp problem

Hi there, I’m having a hard timing finding the right balance of humidity and temperature. I read on this board that a temp of 80 deg F is ideal for the crabs, but then my humidity increases to the upper 80’s... was trying to keep that between the recommended 70-80 %. I have a 10 gallon glass aquariu...

Will noise stress a molting crab?

Our hermit crab tank is in a central living place where we sometimes play music. Would this affect the success of a molt? Thank you!! My crabs haven’t molted yet but just thinking ahead.

Only 1 antenna-problem?

Hi there, I’ve had my two PP’s now for just over a week. My favorite one, I’ve noticed, only has 1 antenna. She seems to be thriving and doing well, just curious if this is problematic for her? Thank you!!
