Re: New crab question

And now I feel like I need to share the pictures I've got of my others. The littlest is chucky, the one in the painted shell is cheech (he's had it for almost 2 years, it was huge on him when I got him, hopefully he switches when he's up from this molt and sees 20 new shells) and the one in the tape...

Re: New crab question

Sorry for the kind of poor quality, my phone is the only camera I've got and it's not the best lol. However, here are a few shots of levianthan I managed to get. As soon as he was comfortable he found the shell pit and changed to this wonderful striped tapestry from his beat up old shell. I did get ...

Re: New crab question

Yes me too, he's even more hairy and bright than before. I think he just immediately stress molted when he dug in the day he got home. Which correct me if I'm wrong but if he did in fact successfully molt, that should clear him of the PPS risk right? Anyway he's found a cozy corner in the dollar sto...

Re: New crab question

I waited. 1 month to the day, and levianthan has finally come up for drinks and food. I caught him as he was scuttling away into his fake log hide :D he seems to be alive and well. Just as soon as I can catch him without stress I'll be scooping him up to his new home. As it's the first time he's bee...

Re: Tank capacity

They seem to be happy and everyone has their own hide, so I suppose I could leave the tank as is unless I run across a couple smalls that really need a better home

Tank capacity

So I've got a standard 40b that's 36x19x19 and I have one small a little bigger than a quarter and two what I'm going to call larges as they're just a tiny bit larger than a golf ball I would say. And another large that's bigger than them but not quite tennisball size, waiting on him to come up from...

Re: Moss/condensation

Okay, I will poke a few holes in the little crack I have plastic wrapped. It's present pretty much all day every day for the last couple weeks now.

Re: Recommendations for L/XL Crab Climbing Decorations

So, I made my own climbing area/hide out of a dollar store container covered in crafting mesh. The mesh is perfect, all my crabs from quarter sized to the one a little bigger than a golf ball have no problem climbing it and just hanging out on it. I used zip ties to attach the mesh. Really you can a...

Moss/condensation

Hi all, finally finished my 40b tank. So I've got quite a bit of condensation, is this a concern with flooding over time or not really? Also, I've got a moss pit on the bottom floor, the shell shop on the top floor has moss lining the bottom, and the second story has moss partially covering it, all ...

Re: Second level

Thank you :D I really love the little guys and want to make their tat as nice as possible. I added the shell shop with built in hammock, as well as one section of fake plant greenery to the background, if they like it when they're back out then I will do the entire back drop in the vine. I just adde...

Re: Second level

My second batch of shells came in, bringing me up to 32 shells :D and shell shop 2.0 is nearly ready. Soaking some burlap in vinegar to make a hammock off the side. Naples really has gorgeous shells https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210326/c2a67f0e05ddc2ba7b6f30c641ea1a6a.jpg Sent from my SM-G920V ...

Re: Second level

Thank you guys, im really happy with the progress :D . So far I've integrated the moss bridge as a ladder/perch, its a bit blurry in the pic because theres a lot of condensation at the minute. and I plan on draping a couple pieces of burlap down from the very top edge of the back ground, where you s...
