Heating my crabitat
So I bought a new to me tank, missing a couple braces and it's old, but nearly half inch thick glass and it's still crystal clear, at 85 it was a steal [emoji1]. About 100 gallons I think. It's 60x20x20. That being said I need to heat it, and I would rather not have to use multiple ultratherms (thou...

Re: Is the new tank worth it?
Awesome. Yeah the seller told me he had about a foot of heavy rocks and substrate in it for a terrarium and it was fine with the missing brace. I got it for 85 since he's holding it until the 16th. It doesn't have a stand but luckily I am a carpenter so that won't be an issue [emoji4] Sent from my m...

Is the new tank worth it?
Hi Ive got an opportunity to get this 100+ gallon tank, that is however missing a brace, but on the other hand it's 75 dollars, and he believes it's 60x20x20, but will measure it when he's back in town. Is it worth it? How hard is it to rebrace these things? I hope this works out, as my babies need ...

Freshly molted macro pictures
I used the macro lense on my phone to take a few pictures of my crab, Chong, after his molt. He just came up about 3 days ago. His shell is about golfball size. Just wanted to share with y'all. Humidifier in my room
I have a humidifier running in my room at the moment and I was wondering if it will disturb my crabs as it's just sink water. The humidifier is a few feet away from the tank. And it's a cold humidifier, the mist comes out cool not hot.

Awesome, thank you. That’ll save me a trip to the store just for a bottle of vinegar lol

Cleaning vinegar safe?
I’ve ran out of white vinegar but I have a bunch of this cleaning vinegar. I’m adding some new burlap but I like to soak it in vinegar so it gets rid of anything residual from the factory. Would this cleaning vinegar be okay to use for that?

Rescue crab species check
So I just rescued a hermit from someone who lost their other crab and knew that he needed a buddy. I was told the other crab passed due to a molting complication. The substrate my new crab “Bubbles” came with was soaking wet and smelled very strongly of salt. Clearly the crabitat they were in was fi...

Re: Heating question
Thank you guys for the great advice, I’ve managed to use the ac in my room along with the heating mat to maintain 80-85 now. However I love that thermostat, I will definitely be purchasing one of those soon.

Heating question
So I have 4 pp’s and my tank has been running a high of 89 and a low of 85 for the last couple days since I added cardboard covered in foil for insulation over my ultratherm since winter is coming. Usually I’m between 78 and 82. I just want to be sure I don’t overheat my babies, as I’ve read a 85 is...

Re: Escapee
Well i stayed up extra late since I know crabs are nocturnal. Finally at 3 am I found him after he fell off my shoe rack and made a loud crash. Seems he’s survived that 2 foot fall and about a 4-5 foot fall from the tank to the hardwood. I’ve managed to get a hold of some large glass that was used f...
Escapee
I’m deeply saddened to say I’m fairly sure my jumbo leviathan escaped last night. As he’s not in any of the hides and none of the ground looks disturbed. I’ve put honey and a soaked paper towel out in my room after I searched for him. I’m very distressed and I’m at a loss. Not sure if you guys have ...
