Re: Humidity too high?
Am i reading this right? Forgive me if I misunderstood...humidity can indeed be too high..too high and the crabs are "drowning" too low and its like an asthma attack....with the exception of Straws it should be 75ish range.

how moist is your sand/substrate? Do you use bubblers? I guess I would have to know more about your tank in general to see why the humidity is high- like what substrate- is there moss or sponges in there etc :) The bathroom would only stay humid while the showers are going on and my goodness how big...

You might want to invest in a hood that houses day and night bulbs for more eve...

no to bed a beast
Bed a beast is a no no as chestersmom a crabber on here did research and found it contained soil (peat moss?) which has lead to bacterial infections! Not sure if the product has changed. The thread is in archieves here somewhere

Wow! That's really interesting. What do you do with the molter? Is this just for cleaning/new substrate purposes, or to isolate the molter from the group? I imagine trying to move that entire mound would be hard to move without severely disturbing the crab. Also, question not related to molter, but...

generally the ones in the food are not- the bad ones have 8 legs and will be found on the crabs. I am not 100% but I am sure the booklice can come in different tones of color like the bad mites can. EE is a way to attract the booklice. I know I have had other strange bugs in my tanks from time to ti...

Just watch if nothing changes then I would keep put......voiceofnight wrote:He seems to be acting normal other than the molt sac. He has not spent much time digging/eating/drinking (at least no more than usual for him.) He also seems to have about the same energy level. The move will be within the next 2-3 weeks.
