500 gallon Crabitat

O SNAP! You know, i was going for aquaclear foam blocks, and something happened and i ended up with the blue stuff. Sorry for misquoting! [emoji26] The thing about it isss i change the water almost never. Its been like a month since my last FW change and the ammonia is still trace or nil. I want to ...

Summer Research

Those threads have all that info. Wolfnipplechips and Curlz, from off the top of my head, had the most info on kreseltanks, which you will need for the zoea. Nat and naalide's were also great reads, and i BELIEVE have the most recent live babies, though i am not going to verify that right now. All t...

Re: WEAK DYING???

It seems like he is molting, and you are seeing his legs behind him. Just leave him and put a hide or plastic cup (or something not heavy) over him that will block out the light. Dont peek at him until he moves the cup or you smell the death smell.

Re: 500 gallon Crabitat

Thing is, I use the sponge filter or something that wode recommended. Marineland rite-size filter pad??? It looks like blue air filter material??? I took out the aqueon stuff and replaced it with a thick pad of the blue stuff.. My SW seems to be doing great, all nitrite-y. The FW for whatever reason...

Re: WEAK DYING???

Yes, definitely keep us posted! The best case scenario would be for Dakota to finish molting and just show up, eating and drinking. Otherwise, you could end up waiting over a month to see him again. In any case, be patient and keep food and water so fresh and so clean.

Re: Is this safe?

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/25/d29f86dbbbfd54dfc638de06e9d54d66.jpg I want to use this in the tank for a second level. I read something about not using metal objects for crabs? This seems like it is coated in some kind of plastic. I use this! The legs kept sinking in, so i put the legs ...

Re: 500 gallon Crabitat

Sorry! I over-make-sure stuff all the time.. Better safe than sorry?!? [emoji28] I actually wanted to double stack KK pools, planning to lift the pools for cleaning. Then i read (i think wodesorel, its all coming back to me now) the dangers. I eventually bought 2x 2.5 gal aquariums, and DANG they we...

Re: 500 gallon Crabitat

You can just put filters in them, and use a siphon to do water changes. That would be better for you, too. Once the tank is cycled, 20% water changes weekly, less water consumed. They ARE 5gallon bodies of water. That's like a pound of salt every day????

Re: WEAK DYING???

He was probably in the middle of molting. Like rml6f4 says, put him in a pothole and make it dark (by covering with something light and flat or a hide), but do not bury him. Do not ever remove a below-ground crab. If he is in a bad spot, such as under a dish, just put the dish back lightly without s...

Ahhh! KKs!!! Are you going to filter and cycle them? I remember mention that there are points of them that are weak when filled with water, or something.
