Wow! I've haven't been active in the community for probably seven or eight years now... just getting back into it. Last time I was active, I hadn't heard of anyone successfully breeding hermits. This is so cool! They're so adorable. Who else has bred them in captivity? Has there been a lot? It's so...

Day 97 time has flown by. They continue to climb everything in the tat and explore. I know I have 8 but I'm hoping there are still 10.

They are still in 4-5mm openings in shells. BUT their leg span is well over 1cm and close to 2 I'd think.Kermie16 wrote:Love them climbing all over the sweet potatoe!! How big would u say they are now, Renroc?

11 weeks and 2 days. Growing heaps. Cooked sweet potato was a. If hit tonight. They spent over an hour munching. Between courses they went for laps around the salt pool and climbed the barnacle in there. Then they checked out the hidey holes in the new drift wood.

Re: Aussie Breeding Success Dec 2016/Jan2017
No chance of them being more social at all. That is an inate survival mechanism which will not change. They duck into their shells at shadows and hide just like other crabs

But this was even better because it is finer but remember I'm in Australia so brands might be different here.
