9weeks and I still have 10. 8 in the video and 2 that were half buried so I left them (moulting?). Size difference is growing.

Babies tank or adults tank? OR the kriesel set up? If you have a look back through this thread you will probably find all three.

Tuesday 31st January 2017 Juvenile Crab update 8weeks 2 days Last night I spent 20mins watching one crab check out a big shell very very carefully. BUT then it went away. However, there are now 3 who have done shell changes into larger shells (NO 3 size) and most of the others are checking out shel...

Re: Aussie Breeding Success Dec 2016/Jan2017
Tuesday 31st January 2017  Looks like I'm a mum again. 0730 found Fudge up on the top of the salt pool. But she took off when I approached and took a photo. THEN at about 0830 I discovered what looked like eggs on the sphagnum moss. I’d had 2 big shells in there filled with water (FR...
Re: Zoea?
Could be zoea that didn't make it. Eggs hatch immediately they contact the salt water but without constant movement they won't survive long. Some may have lived long enough to shed skins but it is likely that you have just got zoea sludge. Don't feel bad about not changing water daily. I change mine...

That's so cool these crababies are lucky to have you as their owner. Do you think your crabs will continue to breed or plan to keep breeding? I think it's awesome of you. This is my second lot of eggs in 12 months so I am assuming I will get further chances to raise more babies. Hope it happens aga...

Re: Aussie Breeding Success Dec 2016/Jan2017
Do you plan on keeping them all? If so, how quickly do you think you will have to upgrade tanks as they grow? Sent from my C5215 using Tapatalk Yep I plan on keeping them. My adults are going into a 4tf tank in the next two weeks or so. Then their current tat which is 60x45x45cm will become home to...

Nah they were just climbing over each other and neither wanted to give way.

7 weeks and 3 days I took the risk of carefully moving crabs to a tiny container as I saw them over a period of about 10minutes. This video shows all 10 I found. So I know I have at least that many still alive today.  https://vimeo.com/200918058 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Day 50 (7 weeks)
Well I have just counted 7 out at once. I also have 8 tiny first shells I've collected when changes have happened so I'm pretty confident there may be a couple more still around.

Hi Gaby, Not sure but I did count 8 at once a couple of days ago. Haven't seen a few for a while but they could be doing a sneaky come up at night trick and be spending the days moulting.GabyRaven wrote:How many do you have now? Still 13-14?
