Re: Press and Seal!!

Very similar to saran wrap but seals much better. It'll stick to almost anything. It's in same section as tin foil, saran wrap, zip lock bags, etc....

Re: What kind of substrate is this?

Still looks like potting soil to me. I'd do what Rawrgeous said. Toss it and start fresh.

Re: New Crabitat

K I didn't see others. I have a ton off shells as well. I use a sea grass basket from bath section for my shell shop. This way all shells are in one spot.

Have you checked your sub? It looks as tho it's flooded.

Re: New Crabitat

A shell shop may interest you as well. It keeps the shells cleaner and provides more floor space.

Re: New Crabitat

You also want two water pools. One for fresh and one for salt. Not table salt or Sea salt... Use marine grade salt such as instant ocean.

Re: New Crabitat

I would do away with built in pools and switch to Tupperware. They come in all shapes and sizes. You can use plastics canvas (mesh) as ramps for easy access.

Re: Busy little crabs

Use command strips for hammock. I never could get those cups that came with it to stick.

Re: What kind of substrate is this?

Maybe it is ee mixed with perlite. Perlite has high permeability / low water retention and helps prevent soil compaction.... Looks like potting soil to me also. Does it smell like potting soil?? Potting soil gives off a different smell than ee. Hope that helps :) Sent from my HTC6515LVW using Tapatalk

Re: Naked crab - going on two days

You'll want to place heating by pad above the sub. The idea is to warm the air not the sub. Get an ultatherm if possible and stay away from zoomed. This does little to nothing for heat. Good luck! :)

Re: Size if heater

Try to get an ultratherm. Amazon does have them but you may want to shop around. Reptile Basics are usually cheaper but I don't know about the shipping. Stay away from zoomed... Zoomed costs the same but does little to nothing for heat.

Try using command strips with hammock. I never could get the suction cups that came with it to stick.
