Re: UTH vs Seeding Mat?

The heater that I use is just a standard heating pad for muscle aches. It's probably older than I am. My father gave it to me many many years ago. I have it set to the lowest possible setting and pressed against the back of the tank and it works flawlessly! No need to even insulate it. My tank crui...

Re: What can I put in egg shells?

I think you misunderstood, the rice pinto beans potatoes are the healthy things I already have, but am wondering if they need to be cooked before I feed it to them? Sent from my C5215 using Tapatalk Well since those are rather hard foods I'd imagine it would be easier to eat once they're cooked. Id...

Re: What can I put in egg shells?

Everyone says I can feed them right out of my kitchen, but upon investigation I discovered we do not eat healthy, at all. I could put pear, banana, rice, pinto beans, apple, potato, cheese. Almost everything else is in a box, bag or can. What a shame. I don't think they can eat uncooked rice or pin...

Re: What can I put in egg shells?

I offered it with a little coconut and shrimp because I could tell my crab was going to molt soon and what do you know, next morning he was under the sub

Re: What can I put in egg shells?

I put it in as is. Raw white and shell Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Same here except I'll usually crush it up as fine as I can with my fingers and put it in a scallop Shell. I found that my crabs won't touch it unless I crush it up some. After crushing it I found pieces dragged all over the pla...

Re: We have eggs!

Bummer mlakers! I agree with pinchersandshells though, you are so fortunate to have successful breeding in your tank! How do you know she didn't drop the eggs in the msw? I'm sorry if we swayed your opinion on what to do! Don't beat yourself up about it. You are obviously doing a lot of things righ...

Re: Raw egg?

I'd imagine it's rather nutritious for them on occasion. After all no one can cook it for them in the wild except the sun, though I doubt the sun is often that nice. Egg yolk has a lot of nutrients, hence the fact that it supports a chicken embryo :D

Re: Questions about sub and bubbler

I need to set up bubblers soon. Maybe later today I could take a wire cutter to my lid to cut tiny holes for the air tubes

Re: 20g tall with lid

Your crabs are so friendly! Mine are pretty shy, at least Yippe was. Idk maybe I just need to be patient so they can get used to my presence[emoji13]

Re: We have eggs!

I'm sorry to hear! If they mated once, they'll likely mate again. I wouldn't worry yourself with it too much. Nature is cruel, and it's not worth worrying too much. She'll be gravid again. Maybe next time leave her be to do her thing. She may have felt too stressed by all the attention and ended up ...

Re: 20g tall with lid

Looks beautiful! I'm making improvements to my tank to keep my calm and busy while my crabs molt. Both of my babies are currently down. I have like four extra air pumps for my aquariums that I'm currently not using. I may add them to my tank if I can figure out how to do so without leaving the lid o...

I'm so sorry for your loss Menders! Sometimes their little bodies just can't handle the trauma they go through before they get to our homes

Re: Crushing up food

I use a mortar and pestle to crush up their cuttlebone as well. I used it specifically for all pet food, usually being my brine shrimp food
