Would spraying essential oils in the same room as the crabitat hurt the crabs?
I wonder because my room is open to the hallway, and my mom frequently likes to freshen the air with spray that contains clove oil.
My tank is fully covered but has an air pump.

I don’t ever have crabs down all at once, just a few here and there

Re: how often you rotate in food?
I tend to only use a teaspoon when feeding dry food. The crabs always get fresh food no matter what.

Re: New Bark and Branches!
Not trying to make you paranoid ~ you just need to call the city or county and find out if they spray for mosquitoes in the area you took the wood from. Better to be safe than sorry. Pesticides are dangerous to crabs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Okay, I found out this morning. It looks like ...

Re: Pesticide Exposure
Because of their extremely long lives and because some pesticides can take a while to build up to lethal doses, you may not notice effects for months or even years. It could also cause internal organ damage or problems with molting that may not catch up to them for months or years. Okay, thank you ...

I don't see a picture, could you try it again?
They could be springtails, I find those in my water sometimes, they are harmless.

Re: Pesticide Exposure
How long do you think it’d take to notice the damage?
I accidentally killed one of my Es a long time ago by putting mulch into the tank that had been treated with pesticides.

Re: New Bark and Branches!
My dad is saying that he thinks a spraying company comes through our neighborhood, not regularly though. I collected branches from the neighborhood across from ours, which does not use pesticides or spray for mosquitoes.
What do you think of that?

Re: New Bark and Branches!
Cities that have a high population in mosquitoes usually send trucks, planes and boats to spray. It wouldn’t be something the homeowners association does. Usually city itself does it, etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, never seen a spraying company in my neighborhood, and glad about that!...

Re: Upgraded the isopods
Interesting. I don't have any holes in mine, but I do feed them every other day, so that is probably sufficient air flow. :P Oh, well you told me that you opened it once a week to feed them. http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=117306 Its located at the bottom of the firs...
Re: So Hermie
That sounds like a normal time for a molting crab, so I wouldn't worry until a few months have passed.
