Re: New crab burried w/o shell
If you are absolutely positive it is shell-less you should go looking. They do not molt without shells, and they die if left naked for even a small amount of time. Be careful when searching, but after two weeks it probably won't be a good outcome. :( Thats what i said... Learn something new ...

Re: Château Creb: ninety gallons of anomuran madness
Conclusions about false bottom?? I've seen only a couple false bottom tanks used for things like poison arrow frogs. And the idea there I think was that there was constant running water seeping through the substrate filtering and then going to the false bottom and being pumped back through it was a ...

Re: New crab burried w/o shell
Missing with no shell? hmmmmm... it does sound a little concerning but im sure digging for it is a worse option. Anticipate some of its needs like diet to help it molt and other shells it may like etc. Be ready for it when it does appear. Just make sure your tank is dialed in and wait??

http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=51 Read read read search search search. Sand needs to be damp enough to hold shape. Just enough to hold shape. Sand should not be wet or Gloppy. It may be safer to err on the dryer side for the sand. If you develop a water pool in the bottom it ...

Re: New crab burried w/o shell
You 110% sure all shells are accounted for? I'm sorry this isn't much help right now but it is good practice to try and let new crabs destress and avoid handling for a spell. Temperature is 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit? Humidity is 75% to 85%? Substrate is at least three times the height of your larg...

Re: is my crab molting?
I'll just add the shell guide link - it saved me from buying a lot of shells my crabs wouldn't have used: http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=92552 I would only add that animal protein is important too. :) And proteins can be hit and miss I thought mine would be suckers for ...
