How deep is your substrate? Is it sandcastle consistency? But you see the others, right? Maybe he is coming up. Do you have cameras in your tank?

I would think a wood lid would absorb the moisture. A glass lid is best. I cover my mesh lids with plexi glass I got from a hobby store, and seal it completely with packing tape. Lights will usually zap humidity, especially if they are for heat. Is your substrate sandcastle consistancy?

Also meant to ask you, what kind of lid do you have? You mentioned dry sub. If you have a mesh lid completely seal it with saran wrap or plexi glass taped down. You need to keep in the humidity. If you have those analog gauges from the pet store they aren't reliable. Digital is better. You can find ...

As JoeHermits said, both. And yes, a 10gal gets small real fast. How big are your crabs? Do you think you may be able to upgrade soon? You can get good deals on used tanks. The bigger the better for what you can afford.
