Re: What Are These? (Bugs)
They are actually really small. For comparison, they are smaller than a newborn isopod

What Are These? (Bugs)

Found in the food dish crawling around (left in the picture), can someone identify these? I haven't seen them on the crabs, but they don't look like any other bugs I am aware of.

It could definitely be food
Cicadas?
Near my area, a lot of Brood X cicadas have been emerging. Are they safe for the crabs to eat?

Thank you. Hopefully this means they will molt soon, even though they molted less than 6 months ago.

Re: Sluggish During Winter
Small temperature dips and length of daylight can certainly affect them, I've noticed the same thing with mine for the past 11.5 years. In the dead of winter they pretty much just stop eating for a bit. Come spring and lengthening days they go back into full gear again. They do have seasons where t...

Sluggish During Winter
This happens every year but not this bad as it is this year. Every winter my crabs become sluggish, sometimes not moving for three days straight and it scares me. The conditions of the tank stay the same year round, so I don't know what could cause this. It could be because the tank was in the same ...

Re: Tunnel Collapse Caused by a Drop?
I feel for you. I have two down and I nearly knocked the tank over the other day.. I was working on some nearby furniture.. and I stood up and wasn't watching where I was going and my butt hit the tank.. lifting it off the stand and it slammed back down onto the stand. I've been sick to my stomach ...

Re: Just sits there
Oh no, that really worries me. How long had your crab been like that? You don’t think this would stress her more, to move her again (just switched to this tank a few weeks ago)? She’d also then be alone. If it were to work and she perks up, do I then put her back in the main tank or will I always k...
