Re: Big cheliped / Big pincer

I have one crab who would try to lean out for a pinch too lol. I personally like to handle and pet my crabs. At first one would be scare and run or hide and tuck. But they seem to learn over time that it is no harm to them and tend to come out their shells and crawl over my hands like a hand treadmi...

Some worms!

Hi, I been taking care of two tanks of hermies for over 8 months now. Both tanks with hermies that have been molten and being well. But recently I saw some worms on one of the tanks. With some inside research over HCA, those seem to be the nematodes. Will these be any harm or benefit? Should they be...

The Cake siblings

Hi all, I got two hermies that I bought and brought out on the same day in the same store, and they were last two in the store's tank. One is slightly bigger than the other named Big Cake. Hence the other smaller one is Small Cake. They are PPs. Both were active but Big Cake mostly active at night, ...

Re: Where to shop

I usually get my hermies stuff from either Amazon (cheaper prices) or petsmart (quick use). Shells can be shipped shopped at Michaels, hobby lobby, joan's, or walmart also quick use.

Re: Eddie acts weird sometimes

I have 4 Es. And they all do same thing as yours. For few times I did really enjoy it and film it. Turn out they just like to do such and sometime lean out of the shell to clean the outer of the shell  . They got the shells really shiny after :cheer:

Re: One brave, one dark color

I want bigger tank too but there is no place for a larger tank in my house. I've been trying to build/ create multiple levels to keep them busy.

One brave, one dark color

Hi all, recently upon my petsmart visits, I came across some hermies that I just can't pass. The brave one; this guy is super active and is never shy to crawl all over my hands. Though with sudden movement he would tucks in but then come out right soon afterward. (First photo) The dark color; I neve...

Re: leftover food- wasted

Hi, the method I am using is use a measurement set. I measure how much leftover by using different measurement spoons until I find the right amount to feed. Just like preparing food for us human. We can do same for the crabs [emoji123]

Re: New rescue crab!

It's been 2 months and Mike is still down. How long can a crab be down molting? All my other crabs have come up. Maybe they ate him or killed him down there? Maybe since it's his first real molt in over 2 years, he didn't make it? I'm waiting and hoping. How long should I wait? I won't go digging. ...

Creativity: popsicle sticks

Hi all, Following some sources, i know popsicle sticks are safe for hermit crabs. I built this (photos) item for the crabs out of popsicle sticks and used hot glue gun to put everything together. Just wanted to share as this small crate tower can be good for climbing and for some shells. Any thought...
