Re: To handle or not to handle?
The forum treats them as wild animals living in captivity— ergo, direct interaction is generally discouraged. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It wasn't always that way. The hands-off movement is only a few years old, and the jury is still out on if it actually has an effect on lifespan or behavi...

Re: Naked Crab underground
@ GotButterflies and PinchersAndShells Upon both responds saying that I should dig up the naked one and re-shell but the crab had move away from the glass where I can easily located her. I Decided to leave it the way it is since I do not want to accidentally dig up the other guy who is currently dig...

Naked Crab underground
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Me: eco-earth, about 3-4 inches. I know it needs 6in or higher. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Me: yes, loc...

Re: Isopods or salt?
Rather deciding on salt or isopods. I would just do both for the heaven sake of our beloved crabs[emoji41]. What could be better? combination protection or a single protection! Though it'll be extra work on keeping the isopods but imo, I would go for the best options. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tap...

Ellen's First Molt!
Hi all, my E, Ellen, is finally up from his first molt with me! He was intact but broken antennae. Now his antennae are longer then ever[emoji1787][emoji41] First pic is before molt! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180911/2a33f0e6fae067696ed30d8c440e30bb.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180...

Re: Alien bug!
Yay! Springtails! would too much of them can be a nuisance? Sometimes they will have a huge mass population, and then a quick die off. Either way, they don't bother the hermits. :) they are really reproducing so much more now. Many different in sizes from small to big, biggest I saw is pro...

Big cheliped / Big pincer
I believe most hermit crab owners love the fact that their hermit crab pincers are asymmetry in size and shapes. I do love that fact too hence I wanted to share some photos of my crabs' pincers. Will post more pics when I have a chance later this Sunday! So please share yours when possible[emoji8] h...

Here is my new updated tank and its second level. I used suction cup hooks to hold the plastic basket.

Re: Possible under attack!
I decided to do run another test. Right now, I have 2 crabs, Ellen (E) and Fishy (PP), currently are burrowing. They are under for almost 2 weeks now and I believe these two are down for their molts. I will wait for these guys to come up before what I should do for the medium PP. Perhaps I will post...

Re: Possible under attack!
Like everybody else said, please don’t dig up your crab. When crabs are showing pre-molt signs, I now consider that molting and they need to be left alone. Your crab will surface when it’s done. As mention by the topic is a possible attack, thus reason's the dig up quest. In case of the attack, the...
