Re: New Owner

I know it can be hard, but I second every one else. They will come up. Try not to worry.

Re: Green turbo

I like to keep mine too. Kind of like baby teeth, but shells.

Re: Favorite spot

That is so cute. I think it is kind of neat how they each have their favorite hidey/sleep spots

Re: News Article. Hermit Crabs Attracted to Dead Hermits

The only problem with that. Os if they are pretty and nice like most if us get for our hermit crabs. They have a stronger chance of being picked up by a tourist instead of a hermit crab.

Re: Can humidity be too high?

From what I understand, I do not think it can be too high to be harmful for the crabs.

Somethings to keep in mind that I have read is that high humidity will increase mold, but that it is not bad for the crabs, just might mess with the human allergies.

Simply breathtaking such an awsome job. Now comes the fun part where you and the crabs get to enjoy it

Re: Thoughts on space heaters?

I cannot answer about the space heater. But a glass lid will keep things more humid. Heat lamps also tend to zap humidity

Re: New owner

Welcome to HCA pretty much what everyone said before. But I also want to add organic baby food. Its not overly expensive and you can freeze small portions to keep. Pop it in the tank and it will mealt into a crab feast.

Re: What you keep in your pantries?

Do you recommend any mix in particular. I have been looking at different mixes and just feel a little over whelmed. I would like to try them but don't know where to start. For now, they have been getting an stuff I make on my own.
