Re: New little friend
What size shells are you in need of? I have quite a few smaller type shells I can send you for free.
P.s. how did you determine the gender? I don’t handle our crabs but I’m curious to know thanks!

Re: New little friend
Thank you. I put him in the food bowl in with Crabina and he hasn’t moved, he’s probably loving the food. I’m not sure if I should just put him in the big tank with the others or keep him in the small tank. I don’t see why you couldn’t put him in with the others...as long as he’s acting normally. I...

Re: New little friend
How cute!! Congrats! We also got another little one the other day....or rather my son did lol. His older brother took him without asking me haha....I wasn’t too thrilled but he picked a cute little one & of course I fell instantly in love. I just did a quick dip in the fresh water pool and le...

Re: New UTH - IDK How to use it...
I’m not familiar with that particular one, it looks similar to one of mine. You can use any kind of tape to tape it to the back or side, wherever you are putting it. I used masking tape with my first one because it’s all I had but then switched to clear packing tape.

Re: Newbie (but not) and figuring things out.
Welcome! Just a couple things I noticed, even though you are using jugs of spring water you need to use a dechlorinator such as Prime for both fresh and salt water pools. Also, no sponges are needed in the dishes. A good hygrometer many of us is a digital one made by Acurite..it’s only about $8 at W...

Re: MOLTING EMERGENCY!!
After reading your orig post...I noticed you said you use a heat lamp...any reason why? I had a lamp at first also but once I got the right size UTH and insulated it I found I no longer needed the lamp. (It’s still hanging above if needed) If you can ditch the lamp then you can just Saran Wrap the e...

Re: Video Cameras in Crabitats
I honestly don’t know what I could move...one side of the tank has a hanging moss pit with a net behind it ...the other side has a huge hemp reptile hammock that takes up that entire side/corner of the tank. Hmmmm...I may have to stare at my tank a bit and move the one side around. (Spring can’t co...

Re: Video Cameras in Crabitats
I honestly think the camera is my smartest purchase! My crabs usually hide and/or bury themselves during the day and only come out at night. So, this is a way for me to tell they’re alive, who’s coming up at night, and what they’re eating... as well as entertaining. When I go to bed at night, I’ll ...

Re: MOLTING EMERGENCY!!
So glad you got her back in the shell! I didn’t respond to your original emergency because I’m a newbie myself haha! Just to answer a couple of your questions...a bunch of us on here use the Acurite digital hygrometer...it’s about $8 at Walmart by the humidifiers/furnace filters. I got mine on Amazo...
