Re: New crabitat!!
I have yet to figure out how to get my pics on here. It always tells me my file is too large, both through Tapatalk and from my iPad. Guess I should try from my laptop maybe?aussieJJDude wrote:Congrats on the upgrade! Look forward to the crabby pics!

New crabitat!!
So I FINALLY got to start setting up my new crabitat last night and couldn’t wait to see if any of my crabbies would be awake so I could move them lol. Well, 2 DID grace me with their presence...I let them eat and wander a bit before moving the 2 and it’s been so fun watching them explore....change ...

Question about storing water
Hi! Quick question about storing water. I fill gallon jugs, one with fresh, one with MSW. I also store some Dechlorinated FW and MSW in Tupperware dishes for randoms like rinsing items etc. how long will each last before becoming unable to use...if it does?

Most definitely weird!!!Motörcrab wrote:I honestly believe they do it to drive us crazy or like kids seeing who can hold their breath longer underwater! I have seen an entire feeding of food disappear overnight from post molters! We have seen them pig out for a week only to hide again! Crabs are weird!

Food buffet
So after days of a newbie I was worried about... He finally came up and has been feasting for over an hour!!!! I didn't even have much out because they have all been down but he has been at the peanut butter, a grape, river shrimp, honey and the egg shells... It makes me feel better that he came up ...

Re: Substrate mixing question
I preferred to mix in tank, but many find it easier to mix in bucket... even then, crabs will end up mixing it themselves so it doesn't have to be perfect! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Thank you! Picking up my tank stand later so hoping to get started at least with substrate and getting lev...

Re: Substrate mixing question
Yep! There is nothing wrong with going with more EE and it will help with the hunidity levels for sure. Just be aware it may take more maintence when it comes to keeping it moist, and that it can get oversaturated more easily as well. One more question... Is it easier to mix in the tank or a bucket...

Re: Crabitat done!
I hope he continues to be more active... I'm hopeful now... Most of the crap sand I had is off of his shell since this last time he dug down it was in EE. Starting to set up my new tank later today with the proper substrate levels so I hope he stays above or at least pops back up again when the new ...

Re: Substrate mixing question
Thank you! It will be crabless for a few days so I think I will start out with the 5:1 and see how the humidity holds up for a day or 2 and go from there.

Substrate mixing question
Hello! I am going to be setting up a new tank in the next few days (once I find a suitable stand or table that will hold the weight). I know that most use the 5:1 ratio but I was thinking of going more with the EE for humidity reasons...is it okay to do a 5:2 or 5:3 ratio? I don’t have a lid for the...
