Re: Another flood and -1 crab
Thanks so much for your input. Glad someone understands, but hate that you have had to go through this as well, it sucks. I am still ringing out sub... I found a few tiny dark spots in the tank and trashed those. I don't think I have a bacterial bloom other than that (not sure about those spots) I'v...

Another flood and -1 crab
Ok, I just had a flood in January and luckily everyone was good. Now I'm dealing with another flood... I've filled out the emergency template a few times before. This is not really an emergency, but my info might help to figure out what went wrong... Temp and humidity are good, several digital guage...

What ever you do... DO NOT DIG THEM UP!! Only if you have a flood or bacterial bloom. The others are right, they are probably molting. Just be patient

Re: Loves the Hygrometer?
Thanks! What an awesome thing you did there! Those jumbos- wow. I assumed that was the case when you said the living situation had changed for them- bc nobody gets them to that large size and has them for that long without truly caring for them in both senses. Sad she had to let them go I’m sure! W...
Re: Burlap
If you are talking about using it as a way for the crabs to get out of the pool, I wouldn't. I would be afraid it would wick the water out and into the sub. Hopefully someone that has tried it will chime in here soon.
Re: ISO
First off, I am no expert!! But I had a flood and had to dig two crabbies up. I put them in ISO until they were up moving around. As soon as they were up I gave them a dip in the pool and put them back in the main tank.

Re: Shellfish Allergy
I was at the hospital and had a reaction to IVdye, my throat closed up and I broke out all over. I was told that ment I was allergic to shellfish as well... But I would definitely check first if I were you, just to be safe.

Re: Shellfish Allergy
The doctor told me I'm allergic to shell fish and I haven't had a problem with my crabs or their food that is just me though.

Re: Salt Water
You will need a product for marine fish like Instant Ocean to replicate the sea and just follow directions on the box for mixing.

Re: New Used Tanks--how OCD to be? (and tank topper q)
I've had really good luck cleaning fish gunk out using baking soda and water made into a thick paste. Scrub with paper towels and rinse really well.
Can I ask why you would downsize from a 90g to a 30g??
And, have you thought of using the 30g as a topper for the 90g??
