Re: Store-bought driftwood

Thank you Wodesorel! I had thought along the same lines but hadn’t had the fully formed thought re: kosher salt, and maybe never would’ve thought to ask. Good to know- anything that can save me a bit of money, I like!

I was curious as well, if for no other reason than simply curiosity’s sake! Anybody else know more?

Re: New 20 Gallon Tall Build With Egg Crate (in process)

I don't have a water drip anywhere. Only if I over mist the moss pit. Hermits love wheels! I viewed my crabby cams recorded video and saw some guys easily spend 12 hours just walking in the wheel with out getting out! Oh my gosh! That’s amazing! I just added one in my 10, I had already decided the ...

Re: Crayfish...

So pretty! I didn’t even know keeping crayfish as pets was a ‘thing’ til I landed on here! But I think they’re beautiful, and I love learning more about them and seeing the pics. Thanks! [emoji16]

Re: What should I do?

You can still start adding humidity and moisture to help them out I would think- and the crabs have, unfortunately, also been in similar conditions at PetSmart- unfortunately they don’t do their own homework as well as they should either. You came to the right place- for now I wouldn’t worry terribl...

Re: 10 gal crab tank

Yep- what they said! Always great deals on LetGo in my area, hopefully yours will be the same! Good luck, I bet you’ll find a steal someplace. [emoji6]

Also, I would be interested to know/see how the tank topper bit works with the crabbies! Thanks!!

Re: Crabby genius?

They are surprisingly smart, aren’t they? And tenacious for sure. That is really funny that she got it stuck like that though! I though little Patrick was going to pull a similar naked move, but I was worried bc he was trying to push through a hole and would’ve been naked to either cling or fall.......

Crabbie Cam Videos (Updated 1/31/19)

I use 100% organic edamame pasta, and they love it. Oh wow- where do you find something like that? A place like Whole Foods? Tia! That video is so funny, but I especially enjoyed the one where one was on the wheel at the bottom and had the other turned so it was hanging on the top! That was so funn...

Re: Welcome the new Crew!!

Well I added the smallest one to the tank, and he and Dave have been making nice. So Billygoat (he climbs like one) and Dave were hanging out under/behind the exercise wheel I added, but I forgot that was one of Dave’s favorite spots beside the heater! Anyway- they’re ok so far. This guy should have...

Re: The Best Number of Hermit Crabs to Have?

Well, we are up to 6 now... it was 1 more than my plan, but as I said, the poor guy was literally waving around like dumbo’s ears popping out! I’m making light of it but it was so heartbreaking to see I had to get him too. I don’t know how the stress of all of that will affect him/her long term eith...

Re: Welcome the new Crew!!

Mmmm. Totally just spent about $50. But really, I gotta say, compared to anywhere else her prices are certainly fair. So I can’t wait til they arrive. Literally I may not.... [emoji854]

Re: Welcome the new Crew!!

Thank you for sharing. I am new enough at all this, and as I say, I didn’t PLAN on bringing anyone home that big if I could help it. But I couldn’t help it because I had to help him!! I bet everyone else passed him over for the same reason- and were afraid of the bigger pinchers too. But yes, unexpe...

Welcome the new Crew!!

I’m only about an hour 1/2 from there, (pigeon forge area) so.... it may be best for Dumbo if I bomb down there tomorrow... I guess I need to determine exactly where I’d be going. But, either way, I would think at least ONE of the stores down there would cater to that sort of thing. Oh and yes he wa...

Welcome the new Crew!!

Well.... my patience ran out and so did my cabin fever. I went and added 4 to our crab family today! We are all so happy about them too. Even if we didn’t get to adopt, we still are giving these guys a good loving home. Ok so we have only named one so far; Dumbo is the Jumbo, when compared to the ot...
