Insulation

Have you considered using one large UTH? It should make for a more reliable and even heat, such as an Ultratherm? Unfortunately, the smaller UTH like the zoomed or similar aren’t meant to be insulated. It can create a fire hazard. That’s why many of us have chosen to use the Ultratherm bc they are s...

Re: Silently lurking

That is fab!! It’s looking great, and your crabbies seem to be having a blast exploring it all! I hope to do the same and connect multiple tanks in the future- it’s only fair as they grow, or at least that’s gonna be my excuse! [emoji23] Love it- keep up the awesome crabbing! Re: Stressed?

I personally have tried both ways; I will now use the second method Motorcrab mentioned for anyone I bring home. I like to keep them in iso for a couple weeks at the least to be sure they aren’t going to bring any mites or anything bad to the tank, and to give them some quiet downtime too! I have st...

Re: Do I need to redirect Tiny away from underground Bleep?

Perspective is hard in pics sometimes! Sounds like you prolly have enough sub, and as they said, best to just let them sort it out! They did it just fine on their own, it’s so hard not to want to help them!!!! I have a crab I must have lost that I have to dig up here in a bit, and molting crabs some...

Re: Shell evac from a almost limbless crab

Update! Tiny is doing amazing, he has just finished with a recent molt and seems to have his big claw back, as well as most of his legs! Thank you everyone for all help and advice, he and myself greatly appreciate it and could not have done it without the support. I will try to post a picture soon ...

He’s back!!

And he’s being a picky eater...[emoji23][emoji23] Whatever the little red/purple bits are, he wasn’t interested, bc he otherwise emptied the section! Hmm... and I think the pepper seeds with it are new too! I had put a mix, along with something else in that section I just gotta remember what cause I...

Re: He’s back!!

Thank you! He’s been slow to come back around but he is. Now that he’s eaten some, rested, drank some, rested, foraged, and- you guessed it! Rested some more... he’s starting to act and move around more like his usual self. He had me a little concerned at first but he’s just fine now I think. He nee...

Blueberry Hermit Crabs

First- just google them- they’ll pop up! Second, yes there are a few stateside, however they no longer legally allow them to be exported. They will still show up occasionally but very rarely.
