There was a bug in my crab's shell!
I picked up my crab Blueberry, who I think molted, and I saw a tiny orange bug crawl out of his shell. What could it be? I was thinking it might be a type of crab mite or a soil mite but I think I will bathe my crabs and see if there are any left. Please give advice. Thanks!

Re: Eek! Swamped tank/bacterial Bloom and molters
Oh no! I thought most of what you had was good except for the deep cleaning and water conditioner or salt. I don’t seem to know the brand or products but I would recommend aqueon tap water solution or prime as a water conditioner and instant ocean marine salt. You should probably dig them up so the ...

Wait if someone sprays pesticides outside can that harm the crabs and reptiles? They did recently so I can’t take my crabs outside.(please no comments on the handling the crabs thing)
Re: Sick crab
Lol! I think it should be fine but you might want to pour a little bit more out.

Re: Thermometer issues???
You can also calibrate your hydrometers.
I also got the accurite brand and when I calibrated them one was 7% off and the other 2, 3, or 5% off (too dry). It depends on the opinion of the buyer.

Heating help
Hi. I have a twenty gallon tall tank, and I purchased a heater from amazon (the biggest size) to put on the back of the tank. My temperature in the spring was around 79-82 or 83 F, and in the summer has been around 81 or 82-86 or 87 F. Is that too hot? One time I unplugged it for around an hour (pro...

Welcome and great setup!
Re: Sick crab
I don’t know. Some other people’s crabs that were missing limbs did the same thing during baths. I’m glad it is doing better!
