Re: Water Cabanas!
I managed to get about 5-7 days out of 8 cup water pools with 8-9 large crabs using them. Their shell openings are about 1-1/8". The 6 strawberries always swim and drag sand into the water. Their water needs to be changed a lot. I have 2 medium and one small purple in another tank. They have pint s...

Re: New Hermit Crab Owner: Crab in and out of Shell & Substrate
Oh no! If it is still in there you might want to take it out. It could have not had enough energy to get out. Some crabs have been in water for around a half an hour so it could be ok.

Substrate in water?
How come people say that you have to replace the water when sand/EE get in it? I think I heard it was because it raises ammonia, but their ocean wildlife habitat is full of sand! What’s the difference? Thanks!

Re: New Hermit Crab Owner: Crab in and out of Shell & Substrate
How is he doing now? It could be because of lack of shells. Whenever I tried putting my crabs by the food dishes they just ran away and hid for a while. I don't think It is normal aboutthe coming out of shell thing though. I hope someone more experienced can help!

Re: Water Cabanas!
Having bubblers helps raise the humidity inside the tank. I never had an issue with humidity in this tank. They do help somewhat with the need for changing the waters as frequently. You may get an extra day or two between changes. Usuallyng water will get a film on the top. The bubbles help circula...

Re: Water Cabanas!
Nice! But not the cleaning though lol. Does having a bubbler make it so you don’t have to change the water as often? If not how does it help?

Re: Crabitat tank journal
if the pvc pipe is for them to hide and climb in you might want to add mesh on the inside (and maybe outside) so they are less likely to slip and slide. Great job researching!
dry food?
does anyone recommend any (specific) dry foods I can make or buy? I don't want the food to go bad too fast and I would like the crabs in my tank to be healthy. Thank you!
