Re: Pinchy Palace Journal

Do you have a photo of how it's mounted? I deconstructed the fan, but not sure how to securely mount it in the tank.

Re: Pinchy Palace Journal

This may sound like a waste, but a small computer fan blowing in that corner may help evaporate condensation. Works very well for me, just an added electrial equipment. (Think of it like a powerhead for the air! Haha, the jebao will probably be overkill, so be prepared to run it at the lowest setti...

Re: Pinchy Palace Journal

There wasn't enough water movement, so an oily slick was forming. I picked up this surface skimmer, and it seems to be doing good. I'll check in the morning. I need to find a wave maker, specifically the Jebao slw-10 to ensure the rock gets enough dispersed flow. Once I see how long the cable is, I ...

Re: Heat and humidity

Depending on the brand of heat pad you have, some can be insulated to e sure heat stays in the tank. Zoomed can it be insulated, but ultratherm can. Of course, 5his is assuming that your gauge is working properly. The care guides has a section for calibrating. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

Re: Crab agression

When any new crabs get added to a tank, they need to re-establish the pecking order. Sometimes it takes a while. A few things to ask, what's the spec of your tank? Size, heating, food, water, shell, substrate, etc?

I made a crafting mesh case, attached to a suction cup.

Just wondering, did you end up tracking the growth of your crab?

Re: Lost crab??

First things first, DO NOT dig in your substrate for the crab. This is fatal to them. As long as your lid was not left open, and there are no gaps they can exit through, your crab is still inside your tank. They often dig down and hide as they are prey animals, and this is absolutely normal. When I ...

Re: Pinchy Palace Journal

I finally got my hands on a other hamster wheel. 5his specific one was sold out at the few closest locations. All Living Things medium size. Although this one is the PetSmart brand wheel, I find that it spins just as well of not better than the branded ones, at half the price. I'm finally able to ex...

Re: Asking for help, how to properly cycle water tanks

You need to just run the tank and let bacteria grow. The bacteria turns ammonia to nitrites to nitrate, at which you have macro algae (sw) or plants (fw) to absorb the nitrates, or you do a water change to remove it. It takes about a month to fully cycle. You could speed up this process by adding se...

Re: Tank Set Up

Questions are great! All playsand is usually good. I personally looked at reviews to see how dusty it is as the sand should be pre-washed. I personally used King play sand. Contact Ken Lipe on Facebook. His store is "the shell store", and sells shells by the 1/8 size increments. You can ask him for ...

Re: Local mosses?

FYI Duckweed is a floating aquatic plant. Almost aquarists don't want it in their tank and goes great lengths to remove it as it grows super fast and it's extremely hard to get rid of it.
