https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190801/a28271bd4a840e2b04ed00d90e93105f.jpg Tonight the crabs are dining on crushed peanuts for protein of course, oats, black chia seeds, dried river shrimps and meal worms. In the dessert dish I have crushed apple, diced cranberries with a little calcium powder,...
Green tea
So I have some organic non caffeinated green tea with jasmine flowers mixed in and figure if the green tea was safe for them I could feed it to the crabs. I don’t see green tea on the safe or unsafe food lists. Also there has been discussions in it saying it’s safe or that people are feeding it to t...

Name?
We have one crab left without a name. The hubby and I can’t think of something to fit him good that cute maybe clever and unique. He has a weird quirk of changing shells a lot like he is a fashionista and wearing a shells that fit the day. He’s a big night owl but super laid back. He doesn’t climb m...

What wood materials are safe?
I wanted to build my crabs a second level by creating basically a wooden table with materials from a local hobbyist shop near us that has it conveniently precut. However when I stopped by I realized I didn’t know if the type of wood was safe to put in a crabitate. There was only balsa or basswood an...

Re: What's Your Crab's Favorite Food?
Mine are really weird that devour cauliflower like crazy but absolutely will not touch carrots
Beans
I’m liking the idea of adding some beans to my crab food rotation. Should I feed the beans to them cooked? Or can I mix them with the dry food I give them (which includes dried safe foods rice oats nuts and that kind of thing) ? Also, could you maybe grind them up with another type of dry food for e...

Humidity struggle
Hi I’m having a really hard time keeping our 40 gal tank humid enough for our crabs. We use only ee for sub and have moss scattered around to help out at well. Tank had full lid cover to help keep moisture in. We have just been missing several times a day to keep it up but it feels like we are const...

How can I tell my females have eggs?
Just wondering if there is anything you will notice or if you pick up each of the females to examine if they have eggs?

chicken or beef broth?
I found some chicken and beef jars from the store. Besides the beef and chicken the only ingredient listed is that meat broth. Can hermit crabs have beef and chicken broth? Or is it not safe for them?

Hermits eating dog food?
I read on a few websites that you can add some pieces of dog food to hermits food for some added protein ....is this true? If yes is there any ingredients I should look for in a brand that aren’t safe for the hermits? So I don’t feed them anything dangerous
