Re: Heat?

If your uth ends up not working, grab an Ultratherm. Reptile Basics has the best prices for them that I've found. You'll have to get a thermostat too though, as these pads don't come with them:

Re: Heat pad!

The pad I got is for seedlings apparrently. It has no adhesive on it so I got gorilla tape and taped it to the back of my tank. How should I go about insulating it? Is it even possible? If you kick temp up high just to test it, it should kick on. You can only insulate it if there is no padding in i...

Re: Heat pad!

so the heat pad just came. The thermostat is working well but I'm waiting on the heat pad. It's been plugged in for about 15 minutes. I sure hope it warms up. It cost 40 dollars for goodness sake. I didn't know this when I first got my thermostat, but they usually have a 2 deg buffer. So if you set...

Re: Red Bell Pepper Seeds

Thanks Motör and Wodes! I need to place an Amazon order, so I'll see if I can find some good organic spicy flakes on there. [emoji16]

Re: Heat pad!

The brand is VIVOSUN. It's a heat pad made for seedlings but apparently also works with reptiles/crabs? (Again, the heat pad has not arrived yet so I'll update my post when it comes.) It's called : VIVOSUN 10"x20.75" Seedling heat Mat and Digital Thermostat Combo Set MET Standard. Would give a link...

Very nice! [emoji846]
Do you know what brand it is? I've never used Zoo Med uth's, but I've heard they don't work very well.

Re: Red Bell Pepper Seeds

This thread is hilarious. Mine prefer the seeds I think as well I'm on the lookout now for pepper seeds on the internet. [emoji16] I don't eat peppers, and the crabs already have enough dehydrated peppers. Or maybe I can buy the peppers, pick out all the seeds, and ask my neighbors if they want the...

Re: Crab lost claws and most legs

I'll put my suggestions under your answers. Hope it helps! 1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Sand, its currently not very deep since a lot was cleaned out CL77- Many of us use a 5:1 ratio of sand and EE, mixed to sand castle consistency with dechlor fresh or salt wat...

Re: Top of the Pecking Order

My top crab is Beau. I've had him for over 8 years now. He loves new friends. Whenever I bring in a new buddy, he has to check them out and follow them around. He's never been aggressive toward any of the newbies and seems to always enjoy a new friend. He bonded the most to one of my first rescues, ...

Re: Custom hide

That's so cool! I don't think I would change anything. It looks like you gave the crabs a 2/3 car garage haha! Now all they need is little smart cars to park in there LOL.

Re: New Mother of 2!!

Congrats on the newbies! And kudos to you for rescuing the little guys! I also use a uth, so I can use glass tops to keep my humidity in. I use to have 5 fish tanks at one point, but now I'm down to just one 40 gal breeder. What kind of fishes do you have? [emoji16] Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus usin...

Yeah! See that thick shading on all the l8mbs, like someone went too heavy with the contouring makeup? That is an E trait that nearly all have in some color.
