Re: Beta Fish Questions
Wodes is right. Bigger tanks are easier to take care of too. I had Bettas in a 2.5 gal and a 5 gal before. They were rescues from people that didn't want them anymore. So I used whatever tank I had free and room for at the moment. The smaller the tank, the more frequent water changes you'll have to ...

[quote=hermitsinnc post_id=1124502 time=16886733 user_id=42190 For some reason mine could care less about popcorn. Last night they ate a serious amount of tuna and left the popcorn behind! Two nights ago I filled their busy boxes (curiosity cubes from another seller because they where closed at the...

Hermits is right. Those "D" shaped openings on those whale's eye shells are preferred by Ecuadorian crabs not PPs. [emoji3525]

Re: Just got my crabbies some new shells!
Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that purple pinchers prefer shells with round openings. So they will likely only use the green turbos if they are the right opening size. [emoji846]

Re: New Hermit Crab Owner for large purple pincher
Thank you guys for all the help. I am putting the new tank together today but I'm switching her from a 10 gallon to a 55 gallon tank but it's 48" long and 18" tall. Is the best way to heat it still the mat on the back? Do I just get 2 or 3 to cover the whole back all the way up from 6" from the bot...

Re: New Hermit Crab Owner for large purple pincher
It was autocorrect. I typed molting. I realized knew it was her exoskeleton once I saw her in her shell and we brought back most of it and put it back in her tank by her coco hut. My number one goal is to make sure I know how to set up the tank for her to be comfortable and healthy especially while...

Re: Flashing lights?
Gotcha, but the flashing that did happen won't hurt them? Just might confuse/agitate them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nah, they'll be ok. Just think if they were in the wild, they'd experience thunderstorms/lightning that would be similar. [emoji846] Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapat...

Re: Flashing lights?
If you want to temporarily turn them off, it won't hurt the crabs. That way the crabs won't think they're having a disco party lol! Might keep the lights from blowing out too if there's electricity surges happening.
