Is Laminaria safe?

The title says it all. lol

Haven’t been on in a while but thanks to everyone her the crabbies are all still doing well.

I found a seaweed bath from a local nutrition store and it contains Laminaria which I don’t see on any list here. Does anyone know if it’s safe?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Hermit crabs don't like fresh food

From what I have heard around here just keep trying those things you think they don’t like because they might eventually eat it one day. And try them in different forms; dried, cooked, raw, chopped, whole, etc… Don’t give up on something. Mine like some of the things that yours don’t like. Mine love...

Not sure if it’s disgusting or not but the aroma is off the charts with water Buffalo dog treats. Hope they are safe!

Re: What size Ultratherm for a 75G?

I have the 6x47 on a 55. Insulated entire back and sides plus I have to keep a blanket on top and hanging over the front which helps reduce condensation as well. Although I just had a flood due to condensation build up over time. Unless I have a small leak in a pool that I didn’t catch. I’m looking ...

As far as I know they are safe. I have bought one of those reptile flower toppers before.

I’ve had almost the same thing happen. Over a year later he has grown into his “too big” shell. But it actually seemed like he grew into it rather quickly. It’s just been over a year at this point.

Re: HELP! Hermit crab lethargic after molting!

My experience with lethargic crabs are minimal but I’ll share in case it helps. The two crabs I got as friends for our original crab were not too active at first. They spent a lot of time visiting the pools. Almost like they had been deprived of water. One of them dug down not long after purchase. S...

Re: Lonely crab

Lately I’ve seen some adopting happening on Facebook hermit crab groups. I even saw one close to me but 10 other people already commented on wanting them. I really don’t have room for more anyway. Just thought I’d mention Facebook if you haven’t already looked there.

Re: Blackberry is STILL down.

I’ve left crabs that died under the sub with no ill effects. My other crabs finally exposed the shell and there was nothing left but the shell. My opinion is to never disturb them unless you absolutely have to.

Also for whatever it’s worth, ammonia (NH3) is also highly volatile.
