Lonely Crabby got friends but aren’t so friendly and cool colors on the big guy.

So I’ve been restraining myself on getting Crabby some new friends from a pet store. I don’t want to support that. So I’ve been searching to adopt and turns out many of my daughters friends went to the gulf this summer. And they know about her “my” crabs lol. One of her friends decided to get three ...

Re: I got Hermit Crabs[emoji3590][emoji886][emoji3590]

Sounds like you’re on the right track to me. I try to keep my temp and humidity at or above 80. Sometimes at night it will fall below 80 especially during winter. I only have purple pinchers as well. Use salt that is used for saltwater aquariums like instant ocean for the saltwater pool. Offer plent...

Re: Air stones vs emitters

I was thinking the emitters might cause less splash out but I thought maybe someone here had tried them before

Re: Can I see your water pools?

It’s hard to tell in these pics but they are deep enough for the crabs to submerge. Although I will be getting something deeper sometime. As well as hopefully finding at least a 75 gallon tank. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200714/5d11943c5e38f7e419b6336cf14857c5.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cd...

Re: Kosher salt with anticaking agent. Ok to boil wood ?

So I guess there is kosher salt without the anticaking agent. I’m not familiar with ferrocyanides

Kosher salt with anticaking agent. Ok to boil wood ?

Is this safe to use to treat wood? It has yellow prussiate of soda. Image

Water activity

This was back in January and I haven’t seen him swim since. This was when i first added filters and took out my bubblers. Crabby wasn’t scared of the filters a bit. My ramps are different now but this was just a quick set up. My filters are more secure too. This is Crabby in the freshwater. https://...

Re: How to boil moldy wood...

I just quickly bought some Morton kosher salt but it says it has yellow prussiate of soda as an anti caking agent. I thought kosher wouldn’t have anything added. Is it ok to use for boiling wood? I also have some sea salt but I thought it might have other stuff in it hence the reason I bought kosher.

Re: Few questions about food, feeding and storage

Hello! Happy 4th of July! I personally make mixes for my crabs. I myself am too busy and have too many animals, people and plants to take care of to prepare fresh foods for ALL of my hermies on a daily basis. By making mixes I am able to make sure that I cover all of the food groups covered in the ...

Few questions about food, feeding and storage

I could use some advice on feeding. It takes me about 45 minutes to prepare food every time I change food, depending on how many things I put in. Sometimes it takes longer. I guess I’m slow anyway lol. I have meats, fruits and vegetables in the freezer. I do my best to rotate but also provide a vari...
