Yes, mainly the pheasant shells that are easier to break (thinner & light weight) :)

I've been wanting ask this in one of the breeding threads and it seemed like you kind of answered a little bit about it in kuza's thread the other day: now that there have been some successful captive breeding attempts what do we know about the different growth rates of different species of hermit crabs? I think you said that PPs and coconut crabs take the longest to go from first hatched to land. Do they take longer to get bigger too (ie occupying a certain average shell opening size by a specified time in development given similar conditions, such as X number of days after becoming "full terrestrial" crabs)? Sorry I don't remember all of the species names for each type of crab so using common names along with the species names would help me.

The little itty bitty hermie in the palm tree just made my day!!! That little guy is soooooooo precious. It's unbelievable how fast these little guys seem to grow!
