Isopods, Springtails, and ????

Post by EPAS » Thu May 25, 2017 11:12 pm

I know that you can add isopod to your tat, but can you add springtails and earthworms?
Will earthworms cause problems with molting crabs?
I have isopod and springtsils breeding and I'm thinking about earthworms

Have a great Memorial weekend.

Earthworms don't do great because of the tropical nature of the tank. I've never seen them used in vivarium setups before.

Springtails however are an excellent addition since they eat actual mold! Mine showed up on their own and they do an amazing job keeping all 29 of my various enclosures clean.

I would never add earthworms to my crabitat as their burrowing would disturb molting tunnels/caves.

I would think the salt would be harmful to the earthworms skin too...

Thanks everyone. I didn't think about the salt, but I thought that the earthworms would effect molting crabs.
Have a nice Memorial Day Holiday and weekend.
