molting under water dish

Post by srwalter » Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:34 am

My most active crab hasn’t been out for a few days and I noticed disturbed eco earth by the water dishes so today I finally lifted it up. There’s a clear hole under the dish but no access out of it. I can’t tell if he’s down there but assuming he is should I move the water dish to a different location or leave it be. I’m worried about lack of oxygen and what not but I know my crabs bury under a hollow rock sometimes too.

Leave it be. There’s enough air movement in the soil for them to get all the oxygen they need.
