Declorinating Water

Post by Pizza Hermit » Sun Jun 07, 2020 3:33 pm

Hello! I’m new here and also a soon to be new hermit crab Dad 😊. But I wanted to know what’s the best & safest way to Dechlorinate fresh water for them to drink and to use to mist my tank down to keep the substrate damp enough for them. How to dechlorinate like a gallon of water or 2 liters. Most effective way? Thank you!

Usually you can buy a dechlorinating agent for aquariums and follow the package instructions. It should ideally remove chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals, and ammonia.

Be sure to read through the 'water' care sheet - it explains all about what you need for both fresh and salt water.

Oh ok I will look into this thank you so much. I didn’t see your message until right now 🤦🏾‍♂️😣 so I ended up getting API Tap water conditioner. Is this ok to use? Should I not use it?
