Water bowls made from the bottom of yogurt containers

Post by crabby33 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 5:53 pm

Has anyone ever made fresh water ponds from the bottoms of yogurt tubs? The large Greek Gods containers? I just rinsed out mine really good with tap water, cut out the bottom and poured in dechlorinated water. I added crafting mesh for a way out and voila! A freshwater pond for my crabs.

I have used all kinds of plastic food containers over the years, they are cheap and the right size! My favorite are mushroom containers because they are blue.

Well, I remembered that it is recommended to have water bowls deep enough for the crabs to submerge and I thought those large yogurt containers would be perfect for that!

I love how the crabs aren't picky about what the tat looks like, it makes it so much easier!

This is a calcium pit I made out of the bottom of a yogurt container. Violet loves to eat the egg shells out of it.

But here are my water bowls too. Salt water pool is on the right. Fresh water pool is on the left.

That’s a good idea! I love how your shells are lined up like a shopping area for them.
