So, great news! We sign closing documents on MONDAY!!!!!

Which means, we are moving NEXT WEEK!

I've searched "moving with crabs" and read some old threads, but i just want to lay out my plans to yall. I do have a few questions as well. (don't i always??

Right now, i have a 55 gallon tank with about 11 inches of substrate. out of 6 crabs, only 1 E is up. The other 4 PPs and 1 E have been down for at least a month.. (as a busy person, i was a terrible crab mom who didn't document who went down when...

The plan is to move the crabs LAST. I'll start at one side of the tank, digging slowly, and each buried crab goes into it's own plastic tupperware container. the substrate from the tank will go into a large, clean tote. (aside from the top inch or two with isopods, that will be separated into a KK)
I'll have each tupperware container set with some moss, a hide, and about an inch of substrate with some crushed oyster shells on top.
The drive to the new house is only about 10 minutes, so i'll have the boys load the tank and stuff, i'll bring the crabs with me in the car.
Once at the new house, i'll set their tote tank up immediately. I'll add the 1 E thats been up for a while.
Heres my questions:
do they need heat packs for the drive? it's been on the colder side here, low 60s and below. (for those of you living in the 15F weather, louisiana cant deal with anything colder than 75F... dont judge

If i dig up any that are mid molt, i read that i should keep them iso for a while. What do they need in iso? (how much substrate, food, water bowls, etc?) I can buy small totes to iso them in... (if i do that, i'll just use the totes to move them)
what should i use for a heat source? i saw reptilebasics has the heat packs for shipping, but is that enough for their iso totes? they only have up to 72 hour ones, so i'll be changing them roughly every 3 days.
how long will i keep them in iso?
My goal is to move them quickly and with the least amount of stress as possible, no matter what that takes. i don't want to lose any molters.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
